Certification Structure
To earn certification, participants must complete at minimum four approved hairstyles within a 6-week window. You will choose four to six styles from the approved list below and submit each one for evaluation.

Soft, glossy, structured waves with a smooth finish. Timeless and elegant.
This style must meet the following criteria:
Glossy, structured waves (clearly defined; not mistaken for loose curls)
A structured face frame with either a side or middle part
Bang connects with the wave beneath it
Straight, clean parting
Minimal flyaways
Ends have been curled

A low set, refined style at the nape of the neck that feels classic, romantic, or modern depending on texture.
This style must meet the following criteria:
Proportional volume in the crown
Bun positioned low, sitting at the nape of the neck
May be textured or smooth
Minimal flyaways
No visible bobby pins
No visible scalp near the face frame (Use C-shaped or zigzag parting near the face frame)
Straight parting
Face frame round-brushed and curled after styling to maintain shape

A lifted, elevated style that creates height and drama. Ideal for a bold, formal look.
This style must meet the following criteria:
Visible from the front
Intentional pattern within the bun
Full, balanced shape in the bun
Proportional volume from the sides
Minimal flyaways
No visible bobby pins
Styled face frame with a straight parting (round brushed first)
No visible scalp near the face frame (Use C-shaped or zigzag parting near the face frame)
Padding used to create volume

A sleek, vertically rolled updo with a timeless, sophisticated silhouette.
This style must meet the following criteria:
A vertical twist running up the back of the hairstyle
No visible bobby pins
No visible scalp around the face frame (Use C-shaped or zigzag parting near the face frame)
No gaping at the nape of the neck
A styled face frame with a clean, straight part
Minimal flyaways
Balanced, proportional volume throughout
Finished with a bun at the top of the twist or a clean, traditional French twist closure

Hair partially secured while the rest flows down. Effortless, versatile, and flattering on most lengths.
This style must meet the following criteria:
No visible bobby pins
No visible scalp near the face frame (Use C-shaped or zigzag parting near the face frame)
Hairline filled in when the face frame is pulled back
Must include a curl (flat wrap, twist wrap, bouncy blowout, or beach wave)
Rounded crown proportions (no exaggerated or top-heavy shapes)
Clean curls with minimal flyaways
Clear and intentional connection point in the back
Consistent curl pattern throughout

A polished or textured gathered style secured at the crown or nape for a modern finish.
This style must meet the following criteria:
Proportional, rounded volume in the crown (unless you choose to do a sleek pony)
Projection from the base of the client’s head
No visible bobby pins
No visible elastic
Minimal flyaways
Hairline filled so the scalp is not visible
(Use C-shaped or zigzag parting near the face frame)Clean, consistent backcombing throughout
Any curl pattern in the ponytail is acceptable

A smooth, tightly finished bun with minimal texture. Chic, refined, and fashion forward.
This style must meet the following criteria:
Minimal or no volume for a sleek finish
May be mid-height or low
Hair secured cleanly at the nape
No flyaways
Straight middle or side part
If volume is added, the crown must be rounded and balanced with the bun
Clean, intentional bun shape
Padding used for larger buns; none for smaller buns

Soft, airy styling with loose texture and movement for a relaxed, undone, romantic feel.
This style must meet the following criteria:
Any braid variation is acceptable
If curls are added, they must be consistent throughout
Minimal flyaways
Braids should be clean and controlled
(Use hair lotion or cream prior to braiding)No visible parts (including around the braid)
Hairline filled in with colored root powder
No visible elastics
Rounded volume in the crown
submission requirements
Each style submission must include:
One final, high-quality image, submitted on a weekly basis
Do not use the same model for more than two styles
Neutral clothing on the model (black, white, or beige)
Clear visibility of the hairstyle (no black and whites images, no filters, no heavy editing)
Posted on instagram, tagging @hairby_kaelee, hashtag #signaturestylingcertificate, and submitted for feedback within the facebook community
TIMELINE & SUBMISSION WINDOW
You have 6 weeks from January 12th to complete at minimum four looks by February 22nd
Submissions must be made on a weekly basis
A two-week resubmission window is available if adjustments are needed, or a week was missed
Refer to the graphic below for submission dates
Final submission must include:
One final post of all four (or more) styles submitted to the facebook group before February 22nd
Clear visibility of each hairstyle (no filters, no heavy editing)

The goal
the signature styling certification was created to give stylists a structured way to refine their work, build habits for putting out consistent high-end bridal looks, and creating a collection of styles that they are proud of.
how will i be evaluated?
participants will be evaluated on their ability to:
create polished bridal styles
meet standards specified in the certification structure section
maintain professionalism under creative and time-based constraints
Weekly personalized feedback will be given to participants that submit their work

You do not need to be at a certain career stage, but you do need to be willing to follow guidelines, meet expectations, and accept feedback.
